Gibbar'd) at the meeting of the Dannevirke Borough Council. "You will have heard that Mr. Stein has had to enter the hospital for a rest and treatinent," said his Worslup, "and I thinli it would be nice if we were to send to ex-Cr. Stein a letter expressing our sympathy and the wish for his speedy recovery. I am sure he will appreciate such a letter coming from us." Tlie Mayor Uioved accordiogly. Cr. J. E. Tyler seconded the raotion, which was carried. . Mr A. J. Ayres left Dannevirke for Wellington yesterday 011 his way to Cliristchurch, where he is to judgo light harness horses and hunters at the CtaJLt.grbuig jubilee Khp.st- _ . ^
