WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. •'Our finances are not good at the. present tirne," said the chairman of the Patangata County Couneilt Mr C. Pattison, in replying to a settler's request for the provision of a new Toad. ' ' We have passed through a depression, during which we had to reduce rates, aijji now we are faced with rising costs.
