SIMPLE AIDS TO BABY'S TOILET
A little glycerine of starch is ugeful to add to baby's toilet water, and just a touch on his hands immediately after they have been washed (before thev are dried) will check any tendGncy to roughness). It can be prepared by adding two teaspoons of powdered starch to one oz. of glycerine and six teaspoons of water in a china jar. The jar must stand in boiling water until a jelly is formed. iStir the mixture well. Boracic acid is an indispensable article of baby's outfit. Nothing disfig* ures a child more than tears, but if the eyes are bathed with lukewarm water to which a dash of weak boracic acid lotion had been added. all trace of them will quickly vanish. For general use, to keep baby's skin soft and dainty here is useful aid. One teaspoon of sweet almond oil and four teaspoons of olive oil must be stirrecl together' i* a china vessel. Two drachms of cacao butter should be added. Stand the jar in hot water until the ' ' butter " has melted, then move and stir the' iugredients xapidly. One drachm of talc powder should be put in and carefully blended. Apply it very lightly.
