MEETING OF PORT AHURIRI TOWNSWOMEN'S GUILD

The Port Ahuriri Towmswomen's Guild held their monthly meeting this week when Mrs Cameron presided. The meeting opened with the ode and aspirations. Apologies for. absence were received from several members including the chairman (Mrs Sutberlamd),. who sent in her resignation. This was accepted with sincere Tegret. Tt was decided that a Chrlstmas party should be given to children of members on December 18. The roll call, "Where I Would Spend the Ohristmas Holiday," brought varied and amusing answers, no one haviim- to pay a iine. The musical parcel competition was won by Mrs Barnao, Mr Whittington gave a travel tnlk, "From Eangoon to Armoi," dealing Iwith the .customs and habits of the (Jhinese. The intimate touches told, oi this wonderful race were most interesting and greatly enjoyed. A vote of thanks was accorded the speaker. The prize for "The prettiest coat hanger," was won by Mrs McCarthy, Mrs Mitcheli 2, Mrs Cameron 3. The painted picture competition was Won by Mrs McAlpine. Afternoon tea was enjoyed by the members bofore the meeting concluded.
