CLEARING SALE
Successful Auction at Bay View Williams and -Kettle, Ltd., report having held a most successful clearing sale on account of Mrs E. M. Marshall, of Bay View. Top price being £9 for a 5th calver- due in any day. The pigsand sheep came f orward tin very good condition and the 120 five and six-year-old ewes, with 130 lambs at foot, most of "which were nearly killable, sold at the remarkably good price of 26/8. The following are the individual realisations: — Gows in profit: I fourth calver £6 2/6, first calver £6 10/-, 1 5-th calver £5 15/-, 1 lst calver £7 15/-, 1 3rd calver £4, 1 3th calver £5 15/-, 12nd calver £7 10/-, 1 5th calver £1 17/6, 1 2nd calver £6 15/-, 1 3rd calver £8 5/-, 1 2nd calver £6 5/-, 1 5th calver £7, 1 lst calver £4 17/6. Cows due shortly: 1 5th calver £9, 1 3rd calver £5 5/-, 1 heifer £6, 1 3rd calver £3 15/-, 1 3rd calver £4 2/6, 2 yearling Jersey heifers £2 10/-, 1 18 months Jersey heifer £3 10/-, 1 2-yr Jersey bull £5 5/-, 1 pedigreo Shorthorn cow and bull calf £7- 10/-. Pigs: 1 sow and litter of 7 £5 10/-, 1 Brk sow £3 2/6, 1 Tam. cross sow £3 10/- 1 Tam. cross sow £2 10/-, 1 Brk. boar £1 10/-. Sheep: 120 ewes with 130 lambs at foot £l 6/8 (all counted), 5 fat ewes 29/-, l fat hogget 27/-, 1 4-tooth Southdown ram 21 guineas, 2 4-yr.-old Southdown rams 2 guineas, 2 Down 2tooths 25/-. f black mare, aged £9 5/-, 1 roaan gelding aged £5. Numerous lots of sundries including harness, garden tools, etc., sold at late market rates.
