Evorlasting punisliment was the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, Octobor 31. The Golden . Text was Psal. 94 :12, "Blessed is the man who tliou chastenest, () Lord, and teaches him out of tliy law."Among the citations which comprised tbe Lesson-Sermon were the following from the Bible, "For Whom the Lord I/Oveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he rcceiveth. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterwal'd it yieldeth th(peaeeable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby." (Heb. 12:6,11). Also the following passages froni the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy, "If mortals are not progressive, past failures will be repeated until all wrong work is effaced or rectified. Remember tliat mankind must sooner or later. either by suffering or by Science, be convinced of the error that is to b overcome." (p. 240).
