Grounds Committee Meets

" WAIPUKURAU, Last Ni t. At a meeting of the Waipukurau Agricultural and Pastoral Association's ground committee, held at the racecourse, there were presenb: — Messrs E. 0. Nation (president), L. G. Harkor, II. P. Hole, Dr. C. It. Raymond, E. MacLennan, A. W. Parsons, H. Parsons, and the secretary Mr G. Rcg. Cook, It was decided that in order to obviate the risk of an accident, owing to the close proximity of the tin hare and greyhound racing section, the horse section ring be removed to the same position as at the 1936 show, and that .no trade space be sold further west. than tlie scratchings' board, enabling an unobstructed view of tba borse cvents from the main grandstand. Mr Parsons reaffirmed his oifer to prepare- the course and keep it in order until Show Pay. Mr Parsons intimated that the Wallingford, Porangahau and the Makaretu Sports Olubs were in the same position as. the Waipukurau A. and P. Association with regard to hurdles and suggested that instead of each club making their own arrangements .that all four bodies should combine and purchase a standard set. Mr Parsons offered to store these hurdles jvhile not • in use. It was resolved that the secretary ' and Mr Parsons prepare a plan of the suggested hurdlee, obtain an estimate of the cost and call & meeting of tlie bodies concerned with a view to §.rranging a suitable working agreement. Mr Parsons was accorded a vote of thanks for his offer to store the hurdles.
