Port Caledonian Society "Weather or weather forecasts have no deterrent effect on th© attendance at the Port Caldonlan Society's monthly inglesides, and at Wednesday's ingleside tliere Was again a large crowd present. The musical part of the programme, Which was arranged by Miss Helen Dykes, coifnprised vocal solos by the Misses Dykes, Harris, Hill and Yvoruie Ansin, a- vocal duet by Misses Dykes and Hill, piano accordeon numbers by Mr. Koel Hastings, while Miss Yvonne Ansin contributed an elocutionary ltem. The fancy dance numbers were contributed by Miss Alma McKenzie's pupiis, and included Seann Truibhas, June Nightingale; skippjng tap dance, M. Nightingale; song and dance, Colie'en Wods ; Highland Fling, Margaret Nightingale; skipping dance, Shirley Ularlf; Irish Jig, junior pupiis. The proceedings were ope^ed by Cliieftain MacDonald, who welcomed the visitors, and thanked the performers for such a fine programme. The pipe band under Pipe-Major Lawson, played several sblections. National and old-time dances were indulged in, Mr. and Mrs. Rerry providing the music for these. Pipe-Major Lawson played for some of the dancing items, Pipe-Scrgeant Bergman piping for the Scottisli dancing.
