FAREWELL PARTY GIVEN IN HASTINGS

A happy farewell party was given by Mrs. H. Hickmott, Victoria street, Hastings, for Mrs. J. Hudson, who is leaving the district. The drawingroom was decorated with lily of the valley and iceland poppies. • Mrs. Hickmott, who received the guests, wore a^ffoek of cnaroon crepe de chine pin-sp*otted with white. The guest of honour chose black ripple cloth relieved with white attd a black hat. She was presented with a posy of red ran"uncu|Us and maidenhair fern, and also a hook in which were written the names of all present. Musical items wero given during the afternoon by Mfs. H. Turner, Mrs. J. Hudson, Mrs. Hockings, Mrs. H. Hickson and Mrs. Allen, and a recitation by Mrs. A.' Turner. Competitions, which caused much merriment, were won by Mrs. Hudson, Mrs. Nutt, Mrs. HoSking. Mrs. Sffiith, Miss E. McNutt. A delicibus Afteraocn tea was eapoyed by everyoae. The iavited guests were: Mesdames J. Hudson, Nutt, Olsen, Choddock, C. Jackson, J. Jackson, H. Grigg, Murtagh, T. Fowler, H. Baumgart, T. J. Thompson, O. Fuller, J. Allen, A. Hoslcing,# Naysmith, A. Turner, Smith ("Wellington), Faul, Bennison; Misses I. Mitchejl, TJ. McNutt, Prebble and Riley.
