New Record for Waipukurau Club

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night, Forty-two pigeons, owned by six members of the Waipukurau jioining Pigeon Club, competed xu a race from Culverden (South island) to Waipukurau, an airline distance of 263 nxiles. The birds were liberated ky the stationmaster, Mr J. A. Thompson, at 8.55 a.m. There was no wind and the weather was fair, but conditions wero not of the best throughout. However, the birds put up a wonderful perlormance and the winner's time, 7hrs. 42mins. beat the club's previous best time over the distance by 22 minutes.
