National Party's Address at Ongaonga

ONGAONGA, Last Night. The Ongaonga branch of the National Party hold a well-attended meeting in the hall, addressed by Mr C. G. Harker, chairman of the Waipawa branch of the National Party. The spcaker was introduced by Mr E. Bibby. Mf Iiarker. spoke first on party organisation and problems. He explamed the Party's national organisation and the national divisions under which the branehes were fornied. He set out the principles upon which tne ' Dominion uouncil of the Party controlled tne pohcy and explained Jiow any meniber of a .branch might get a useful iclea taKen up and adopted into the policy. Mr Harker next showcd the general dilt'erences between Marxian Socialisin and true domocratic government, and showed that Communism could becoiuo a real danger in New Zealand to-day unless those opposed to it were prepared to band together and iight it irom the ranks of the National Party. In this regard several extracts from the literature of the headquarters of the National Party were read. At the conclusion of the address a voto of thanks, . moved by Mr D. Hoideii, was curried by .acclamation.
