. Kotemaori Institute The Kotemaori Women 's Institute held the October meeting in the hall, the president welcoming two new members. The subject for the Golden Thread talk was "Women at the Pan-Pacific Conference" by Mrs. Gavin. Mrs. Harris, delegato to the half-yearly meeting at Greenmeadows, read her report and was aecorded a hearty vote of thanks. The convenors of the gardening and sewing circles gave an account of the month 's activities, and the saies table did brisk business. Mrs. F. Hubbard was the winner of the hidden-fishes competition and the mould of fancy jeliy competition resulted: Mrs. Harris 1, Mrs. Foster 2. Mrs. Haliburton 3. An article from a flour bag resulted: Mrs. Harris 1, Mrs. Foster 2, Miss Gavin 3. Afternoon tea was feerved by the hostesses, Mrs. Parsons, Mrs. Haliburton and Mrs. McQuilkin.
