GUILD OF FELLOWSHIP HAVE BUSY MEETING
Members of St. Matthew's Guild of Fellowship spent a busy afternoon at their meeting on Tuesday at which Mrs Barton Hobbs presided. Much cutting out and sewing was prepared in readiness for the garden party and annual sale of work which is to be held in Mrs J. C. TosswilPs garden, Fitzroy Avenue, o'n November 16. This sale is the great objective at the pre sent time and bright aprons, linen bags, and pretty underclothes as well as numerous small articles were cut out for members to take home and make. These will be excellent gifts for Christ mas and many members make the sale an opportunity for early Cliristmas shonping. Mrs Barton Hobbs Teminded the aiembers that on Sunday evening after church an informal welcome home would be given to the vicar, Canon O. Mortimer Jones, wlio Teturhs to Hastings on Saturday from a trip to England. She also told members that next Tuesday 's meeting would be a special day and asked each to bring a small contribution for afternoon tea. Manv old and new parishioners enjoyed this pleasant sociable afternoon and during the interval for tea, served by the hostesses Mrs B. Hobbs and Mrs Brand members had a further opportunity for chatting.
