GIFT PARTIES GIVEN FOR BRIDE-TO-BE
Miss Maureen Wilson, whose marriage to Mr. Charlie Curtis takes place shortly, has been the guest of honour at a number of very happy gift parties. Among her hostesses were Mrs. Cater and Miss Joan Cater, who is to be Miss Wilsop 's briuesmaid. The afternoon was spent in games and competitions, and after a delicious . afternoon tea the guest of honour was asked to open her parcels, which, when opened, disclosed a variety of very useful gifts. Aoiong these gifts wae a miniature bride perfectly arranged with lace and tiny pearlB, this having been made by Miss Sinclair. The guest of honour thanlced her hostesses and friends for their gifts, and also for a very happy afternoon. She wore a frock of pale pink crepe de chine patterned in blue, and Mrs. Wilson wore navy marocain with palest pink trimmings. Mrs. Cater wore a model frock of black mariette with handmade red shoulder spray, and her daughter wore a smartly tailored suit with fine lace jabot. Among the guests were: Mesdames Marton, Seaton (Wellington), Fail, Garton. snr., F. Garton, L. Pakner, Sinclair, Ballard, Muir, the Misses M. Wilson, M. Jones, R, Loomes, P. Minogue and W. Ballard. Miss Wilson. was also the guest of honour at a jolly evgning party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. Palmer. The evening was spent in games and community singing, and during an interval a tempting supper, served in buft'et fashion, was enjoyed. After supper the bride-to-be opened her parcels among which was a set of I very pretty yellow china basins. On I behalf of his fiance Mr. C. Curtis thank- 1 ed the guests. J The guest of honour wore a pretty J floral silk frock finished with tucking I at the neck and sleeves. Among the guests were: Mr. and j Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Cater. Mr. and Mrs! Lomas, the Misses J. Cater, D. Kitching, I E. Loomes, E. Greening M. _ Young; I Messrs. B. Saunders, N. Oliver, C. I Curtis, G. Lomas, R. Vgrry, J. Jomas, I G. Banks, B. Ware, W, Little and A I Ross. I On Tuesday evening Miss Ruby j Loomes took a surprise party to Miss Maureen Wilson 's home, and a veryl happy evening was spent. A variety I of useful gifts were received by the I bride-to-be, and many good wisheg were I extended for their future happiness.
