There were alightly smaller entries at to-day's Addington market when valuei were well maintained all lectiom except the store sheep, wnere there wai an easing for old. ewes and their lambi and for hoggets. Store sheep: A, line of elose on 906 shorn Romney hoggets from Chatham Islands were the feature of the stori market, and these sold from 23s to 26i for all except a pen of 80 odd. Good ewes and lambs made an even 20s, but old sorts xanged about 12s to 14s. Spring lambs: A moderate quality wai - forward and sold up to about. 10fd per 1b. Fat sheep: There was a smaller entry of 4500 head. All shorn sheep sold well. Wethers made to 36s 4d, and ewes to 33s lOd. Most wethers forward were shorn, and better sorts sold from 28s to 33s, woolly ewes from 35s to 44s, med-. ium woolly 31s to 34s. Fat cattle: A total of 410 was penned, and there was a good sale particularly for light bodies, heavy being a thade easier. Much of Ihe best beef ranged round about 40s, in cases to 43s for odd lots. Top price for steers. was £20 2s 6d, and for cows £16 2s. Good prime steers made from £15 to £17, prime light to medium weights £13 9s to £14 15s, good cows £10 to £11 10s, good heifers £10 15s to £12 53, rough cows i|own to £5 5s. Vealers: A good sale resulted for . prime vealers, big plain. runners being easier. Store cattle: A small entry met with a keen sale, two-vear sfeers making £6 ls and fattening cows from £4 10s to £6. Fat pigs: For an average entry prices' were well maintained. Porkers made from 38s 6d to £3 7s 6d (average price per 1b. 7j|d to 8d); baconers, £3 6s 6d to £5 12s 6d (average price per 1b 7Jd to 8d). Store pigs; Young pigs were in brisk demand. Weaners brought from 16s to 23s, slips 24s to 26s, stores 28s to 39s, sows iu pig £3 10s to £5 10s.
