AUCKLAND, Last Night. For the ninth successive week beef values were quoted firm to 41/- per 1001b. at Westfield market to-day. Ox quality beef was sound, but the bulk of tfie cow entry included plain an.d unfinished gradee, for which. prices were sligntly easier. Extra choice ox sold at 41/- per 1001b., choice_ and prime 37/to 40/-, unfinislied 31/- to 36/-, priiuo cow and heifer beef 37/- to 40/-, unfinished 26/- to 36/-. Extra heavy steers ranged from £16 to £17 17/6, heavy £15 10/- to £17, medium £13 10/- to £15 17/6, light £11 12/6 to £13 15/-, unfinished £8 12/6 to £11 10/-, extra heavy cows and heifers £10 5/- to £13 10/-, heavy £8 17/6 to £11 15/-, medium £7 5/- to £9 15/-, light £5 to £8 10/-, uuiinished £2 10/- to £4 10/-. Sheep supplies improved considerably, although quality was again at a premium. Prices dropped in heavy sheep by about 1/6 to 3/- ahead. Hoggets and spring lambs were firm. In consequence of the extra large yarding of caives, there was a siacxness in the demaud, and prices in practically all classes eased by about 5/- a head. Runners brought from £3 5/- to £0 15/-, heavy vealers £5 to £6 3/-, medium £4 5/- to £4 19/-, light £3 5/- to £4 4/-, smaller £2 4/- to £3 4/-, unfinished 15/- to 40/-, rough 15/- to 25/-, bobby 6/- to 16/-. A heavy supply of pigs included good quality, and a steady sale resulted in firm rates being obtained for all sorts.
