MILKING SHORTHORNS
Entries of Fine Quality "Although rather lacking in numbers the section was amply made up in quality," commented Mr. W. J. Slack, of Bunnythorpe, who judged the milking Shorthorns. "The exhibits showed good dairy ability and I consider that the ehampion cow, Mahora Diana} exhibited by Miss G. Breen, would win in mucli stronger competition. This cow is the daughter of a ehampion bulL and the best advertisement that a bull can have is for his stock to come out and win in this way. "The ehampion bull, Birkland Brewer, also exhibited by Miss Breen, and sire of the ehampion cow, has added a further victory to his Bst of laurels. This bull carries his age remarkably well for a bull of his size. "The reserve ehampion, Waimea Miro, exhibited by Mr. Clifford Andersonf was of quite a different type. He had a wonderful fore-end but lacked a little in condition behind. * ' The winner of the yearling bull class, exhibited by Mr. Joe Wellwood, is worthy of going into much stronger classes. He is a particularly good type, being very clean boned "The group class as a wjhole was very good, Miss Breen's exhibit being one of merit," added Mr. Slack4
