(Eeceived 19, 10.50 a.m.)' LONDON, Oct. IS, The Privy Council dismissed the New ZChland appeal Muuicipality of Mount Albert v. the Australasian Temperance and General Society. The decision dismissing tlie appeal with reference to local bodics' loans affects 23 local bodies in New 2ealand, debentures having been issued to lend5ng. societies form £1,185,000 at varying rates of interest from 5J to 6J per cent. Tho Mount Albert Borough Council was concerned to the extent of £130,000 and the Auckland City Council to the extent of £99,000.
