Australian Birth Rata Improves According to the estimate of the Commonwealth Statistieian (Dr. Eoland Wilson), the population of Australia on June 30 was 6,831,363 — 3,457,787 males and 3,373,576 females. The natural increase — excess of births over deaths — ^was 28,054 in the six months of this year, compared. with 26,175 in the corresponding period of last year. Loss from migration was 3,443 this year compared with 3,928 last year, making the total increase 24,611 this year, compared with 22,247 last year.
