HASTINGS JUBILEE
— ■-? — Tributes to Herald-Tribune Issue "PARTICULARLY INTERESTING" Following the jubilee celebrations the Hastings Borough Council forwarded copies of the Herald-Tribune coronation and jubilee number to various municipalities in the Old Country, qnd many interesting acknowledgments have l^een received. The following from the Rotary Club of Norwich is a sample of the acknowledgments : — . "I write to thank you for your courtesy in sending a copy of the Hawke's Bay Herald-Tribune coronation and Hastings jubilee number, which is particularly interesting and infoi'mative. Such little courtesies add to our knowledge of the nations of the British Commonwealth and help to bring us closer together. Coincidentally, I receiyed a copy of a newspaper published in Kenya Colony. "This Club has a newly-elected member in the person of Douglas W, F. Sibley, who was in New Zealand for eleven years. He tells me he lcnows Hastings very well, and hg.3 enjoyed a perusal of the special number of the journql sent. "Recently Mr. Rees Jones, of Wel lington, New Zealand, was brought to the Club as a guest by one of our members, and I arranged for him to sit next to Mr. Sibley. On that day the luncheon speaker was the Rotary District Governor of Czechoslovakia, whp gave us a very well informed address on the present situation in Central Europe. t(I am posting to you under separate cover a copy of the official guide of the City of Norwich."
