MORE WATER USED
Hastings Consumption for September Over a million.more gallons of water were consumed in Hastings than was the case during September of last year, according to the month returns of the orough engineer, Mr. C. E. Evans, to the Hastings Borough Council. Ho reporfccd last evening that 36,422,500 gallons of water were pump ed last month as against 35,225,000 gallons in September of last year. Tlie rainfall for the fwo perjods was 2.29 inchea and 1.20 inches respeetively. Havelock Nbrth pumped 8000 gallons iq e^cess of the township's own requirements. Four sewer and Jive water connections were laid no last month, bringing the total water connections up to 3544.
