■ ■ 1 » -*w • ' ■ Hastings Licences Show Jncrease Further increases in the uumber of drivers' and heavy traffic licences, as well as in the revenuo received from these sources, are notfed by the Borough Traffic Inspector, Mr. D._ Mann, in his monthly report to the Hastings Borough Council last evemng. During the past month 101 drivers' licences were issued, bringing the total for the current year up to 3142, an xncrease of 321 on that of the same period last year. The revenue to date ha# boen £785 10/--, an increaso of £80 5/- on last year. Heavy traffic licences, issued bwt ffionthi nwnbeted 124 bringing the total for the year up to 352, or 101 in excpss of that for last year. Tha revenue so far this year is £2436 13/4, an increase of £698 5/5 on that pf last year. Five carriers' licences wero issued last month, making the total now 40» or one less than last year. The inspector conducted 31 tests for drivers' licences and failed four of the applicants. To date he has tested 170 applicants.
