Instruction For Army Reservists SCHOOLS ESTABLISHED

WELLINGTON, Last Night. "One of tho principal innovations in the Government*s scheme for the reorganisation of the arcny consists of the introduction in schools of instruction in each, military district for the purpose of giving additional training to territorial offieers, non-commissioned officers and men,» stated the Mnister of Defence, the Hon F. Jones, in an interview today. "This training is over and above the annual camp and week-end parades Three schools have been established one at Narrow Neck Camp, near Auckland, oue at Trentham camp, and one at Burnham camp, near Christchurch," the Minister added. "Although these schools have been established only during the last month, they are already promising to be a mpst successful factoi in the training of the territorial soldier. "During the last three weeks a totaJ of ciglit courses of instruction have been held, and the numbers who have attended have far exc.eeded expectations. So far the subjects which have been studied are section leading for both mounted xifles, infantry, heavy machine-gun, rifle and grenade and re* cruit training. ' 'The three district schools will also t'rain the newly-instituted speeial reserve for the territorial force, which has been established with the objeet of ensuring that fortross troops, both artillery and infantry, have a welltrained rank ^nd file, capable of being called up instantly for immediate serviee in the evcnt of national erner" gency. There are over 100 speeial reservists training at the moment. They will be succeeded by fuTtlier batches at intervals1 of approximately three months.
