A quantity of 726,600 tons of pig jron was produced, agaiust 650,000 tons during September 1936 and 1,163,000 tons of steel against 1,027,000 tons in the same month in 1936. The output of steel for the flrst niue nionths pf 1937 at 9,548,300 tons is the highest ever achieved in the same period, and is 931,000 tons up on last year.
