Miss Fahey commenced 14 days part annual leave on Septembei 30. Miss Young commenced 14 days part annual leave on September 29. Miss Brimer eompleted 14 days part annual leave on September 9 and resigned on September 24. Miss Dallow also resigned on September 24. Miss H. Law (hospital aide) reported for duty vice Miss Brimer and Miss F. Ross (hospital aide) reported for duty vlce Miss Dallow. Misses M. Tansley and F. Atkins, of the office staff of the Waipukurau District Hospital, are stil] absent on sick leave. Mr. B. L. G. Harker, son • of the Mayor of Wairoa, Mr. H. L. Harker, was one of the successful candidates for training in the Royal Air Force. He will leave for England at an early date, Mr. Eric Powdrell, son of Mr. T. L. Powdrell, Turiroa, who has been studying farming in the Homeland during the past two years, has returned to New Zealapd. V. E. Wipter, Jnr., has returned to Wairoa from a holiday. visit to Eydney. Constable K, Hall, of Wellington, is spending his leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Hall, Wairoa. Mrs. N. Matson, Wairoa, is holidaymg in Hastings. Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Sutton, Wanganui, are visiting Wairoa. Mrs Gallon, of Carterton, is on a visit to Makotuku, being the gueist of her sister, Mrs A. Burnett.
