WAIPUKURAU THEATRE
"TIIEODORA GOES WILD" TO-MORROW Irene Dunne might be terrned a ' ' Jill-of-all-types. " She has been a hazel-eyed prima donna in "Irene," "Showboat" and "Sweet Adeline," an ingfenue in "Sweetheart Time," a gracious dowager in "Cimarron," a dramatic emotional star in ' ' Back Street," "Symphony of SixMillion" and "Magniiicent Obsession," and in Theodora Goes Wild, " her currentstarring film which comes to the Waipukurau Theatre t^morrow (Friday) at 8 and on Saturday at 2.30 and 8, a light comedienne. Such a record of versatility is probably unmatched by any other living actor or actress on stage or screen. So complete, as a matter of fact, is her mastery of each type of role that those who have witnessed her debut as a comedy artist in "Theodora Goes Wild" have widely proelaimed that it marks -her best effort to date. Considering the wide chasm that separates a portrayal such as that of the blind widow in "Magnificent Obsession" and the small-town girl who wunts to be a sophisticato in "Theodora Goes Wild," the range and intonsity of Miss Dunne 's art is all the more apparent. This is one of the most successful pietures in New Zealaiid, having played to capacity houses wherever shown. Eavly reservations are advised.
