Miss Batten's Attempt on Record (Received 13, 11.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 13. Miss Jean Batten, the New Zeaiand aviatrix, who is planning an attempt on the Australian-England record, hopes that weather conditions will permit of her leaving Darwin on Saturday morning. She will carry emergency ratons sufficient for 14 days in case she should be forced down in some isolated spot. *
