Rumours of Resignation M.P. FOR WAITEMATA
(By
Telegraph
WELLINGTON, Last Night. Suggestions, emanating from Auckland, that he is likely to resign from the Government Party and also from Parliament were given a complete and indignant denial to-day by Mr W. J. Lyon, Government member for Waitemata. Mr Lyon said he had gone to Auckland for the weelc-end and on all sides had encountered rumours of his impending resignation. Since his return he had found that those rumours had spread to Wellington; The position, as far as he was concerned, had its serious side, as it appeared that the rumour had been put ir« circulation by his political opponents. The electors of Waitemata had honoured him at the last generai eleotion as a member of the Labour Government, and he would eontinue to serve both his constituents and the Government to the best of his ability.
