KITCHEN TEA GIVEN FOR RECENT BRIDE

Prior to her marriage, Mrs, R. Bawden, formerly Miss Nancy Davies, was the guest of honour at a very jolly surprise kitchen tea given at her paents' home. The party was organised by Mrs. Elliott and the Misses M. and W. Elliott and McDuff. Mr. and Mrs. D. I. Davies welcomed the 50 guests and a most delightful evening was spent in games and competitions. The drawing-room was gay with spring fiowers and in the diningroom} where supper was served, were fiowers in pink and white tonings. . After supper the guest of honour was iU-esented with numerous parcels which, when unwrapped, disclosed a large variety of gifts for use in the kitchen. Mr. It. Bnwden thanked the guests for his fiancee and everyone joined in singing "For They Are Jolly Good Feliows." The singing of "Auld Lang Syne" brought the party to an end. Mrs. D. I. Davies wore a gown of black georgette ; Mrs. Elliott, black triple ninon; Miss Duif, gown of apple green souple satin, Miss W. Elliott, cherry satin royale.
