BY AIR TO FAR EAST

Service Across Canada is Envisaged (Received 9, 10.40 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 8. An air route from England to the Far East, via the Atlantic, Canada and the Paciiic, is envisaged by Mr S. J. Hungerford, chairman jof Canadian National Railways and president of Trans* Canada Airlines. He said that. within a year, a daily air service would be in operation across Canada. It was almost inevitable that Canada would be joined up with the Far East, probably via Alaska and the Behring Straits. By this means, 3000 miles would be saved over the American route across the Pacific. It would be easy to link up Canada and the Atlantic by means of flying-boats.
