BRIDAL GOWN OF AMERICAN BLUE GEORGETTE
UDDELL— DUNCAN Gowned ■ in American blue georgette, Clara Elizabeth, youngest daughter of Mr' and the late Mrs W. Duncan, Racecourse road, Waipukurau, • looked very charming when her marriage to Lawrence Herbert, youngest son of Mrs Pratley, and the late Mr Liddell, of Waipawa, was solemnised at St. Mary -'s CRurch. ' The bride 's frock, cut on classical lines, had a needlerun yoke and sleeves - and was ornamented with ' a crystal buckle and brooeh. A halo of pink and .blue' flowers and silver leaves was worn and she carried a beautiful pink and blue bouqnet composed of cyclamefts, miniature lilies, sweet peas and maidenhair fern. Miss Joyce Gny, of Otaki, a • cousin of. the bride, was chief 'maid, and Miss Verna Anderson, of Palmerston North, was the other 'maid. They were gowned alike in very attractive frocks of salnjon pink needlerun lace with short puff ed sleeves. The , bridesmaids wore . silver shoes and pink and blue haloes sijnijar to the bride 's, and carried fragra*nt showet bouquets of pink sweet peas, grape ' hyacinths and maidenhair fern. The bride was given away by her father and the ofliciating minister was the Rev. Canoa E. D. Rice. Mr Calvert, of Napier, was best man and- Mr G. Duncaq, of - Waipukurau, a- brother of the bride, carried out the duties of ' gropmsmgn. At the. reception which f ollowed the guests were re(atives and clo.se friends of the bri^e and .bridegroom.. Mrs' Pratlqy, mother of the bridegroom, wore a black ensemble * with diamante . triminings. Her posy was in autumn tints. "The bridegroom 's sister, Miss Doris Liddell/ of Waipawa, -wore a smart black wool lace coat over a floral frock, and a black" hat. Mrs Tricklebank, sister of- the bride, was in a black ensepible, the hat having a spray of brightly. coloured fldwers. : The two-tiered wedding cake was iced . in, pink and white and was, the gift of Mrs.R. O. Bousfield. For travelling the bride chose a fashiona*bly cut brown and fawn striped suit, !wbrn with a brown astrakKan coat and ' a' smart halo hat in fawn and btown. Her shoes, gloves," and bag were in matching shades. Af ter their Moneymoon-'— a motor tour of Rotorua, Taupo and other paris of the North . Islaud— Mr and Mrs Liddell will make their home in Waipukurau."
