WEEKLY MARKET REPORT

Gordon Walker, Ltd. Quality was somewhat lacking in the full penning of poultry which sold to exceptionally strong competition at Gordon Walker Ltd.'s weekly market sale held on Saturdav. All grades of coekerels and finished table birds reallsed top rates, and other lines sold above average prices. Mostly lighter sorts came forward in the pig seCtion, and sold to an exeellent market at late rates; heavier sorts, in short supply, were disposed of a values 2d in excess of schedyle. Dairy stock met a strong market, and all sundries realised their full valuc. Prices realised were as foliow: — Poultry: Table birds 2/4 to 11/-, W.L. hens 2/7 to 3/8, and 2/4 to 2/; W.L. coekerels 2/8 to 4/1 and 1/11 to 3/-, small 1/6 to 2/-, B.O. hens 3/3 to 4/7, B.O. coekerels 4/- to 5/2 and 3/3' to 4/3, small 1/9 to 2/10, others, hens 3/- to 4/-, coekerels to 4/9, mixed chicks 6d to 1/3, chick coekerels 2d to 1/-, bantams 1/3 to 1/6, hen and chicks to 9/-, turkeys at 11/-, ducks 6/S to 8/6 per pair. Pigs: Weaners 17/6 to £1 3/6, and 13/- to 19/-, slips 18/- to £1 5/-, stores £1 3/- to £1 8/-, light porkers £1 7/6 to £1 13/6, porkers £1 12/- to £2 0/6, heavy porkers £2 2/- to £2 15/-, aows £2 to £3 3/-, lambs £1 2/-. Dairy stock: Grade Jersey cow £9 5/-, others to £6, Jersey heifer £7. Sundries included: Electric slovo £3 11/-, croam cans 12/6 to £1, lawnmowers 10/- to £2, set stocks and ke& £1 12/-, hose £1 1/-, seed potatoes 8/- to 15/6, table potatoes 7/6 to 12/-, fire plate 10/6, small bags seed potatoes 4/- to 6/-, pig potatoes 1/6 to 2/6, vyce 17/6, demijohn 6/-, flat iron to 4/3 per sheot, half barrell 6/-, odd lots tools and sundries 1/- to 3/6. Fruit and produce, iucludiug cut flowers and lemons, sold readily at vendors' rates.
