Heretaunga Club Members Optimistic 0FFICERS FOR SEASON The anuual general meeting of the Heretaunga tSwimirnng and Life-Saving Club was held last evening. the club captain, Mr H. B. Poppelwell presiding over a good attendance. In movixig tlie adoption of the annual report (previously published) the chairnian said that tho season was a distinct failure in many respects, but not because of any fault of the club, but bocause of unforeseen circumstances. These two faetors combined to aifect the attendances, the membership and the pertormances of the competitors. Dealing with the iinancial position of the club, the cliairman said "that the loss on the carnivals at the baths amounted to about £37 10/-. Fortunately the cJub entered into the Queen Garnivai, and as the result of this the club netted over £81, so that actually thero was a profit of about £45 on the season 's workings.
