Successful Function at Taradale JUDGES> AWARDS The missionary funds of tlie. All Saints5 Church, Taradale, received a most welcome addition as the result of a sale of work and flower show organised by tbo Taradale Missionary Service League of the New Zealand Church Missionary Society and friends. The !Missionaiy Service League was responsible for the stalls, with the sale of articles and tlie afternoou tea, while other members of the church, orgauised the flower show, cookiug, home jndustries and haudhvork. The hall looked specially gay with the beautiful flowers of inany colours and varieties, and was all too small to phovide space for the numbers of exhibits from town aud country. Preserves and cookery were varied and good. Needlework gave the judge much thought, being so beautifully done. The articles were much admired. The function was opened by the Rev. W. G. S. Cameron, of Port Ahuriri, who stressed the tremendous importance of the missionary work of the church, and of Christ being the only answer to the problems of the nations of whatever colour and race. 'v He expressed the desire that the reputation of being a missionary church would be maintained as was the case for many years. Canon Hodge, the vicar, thanked thc judges of the exhibits, those who had organised the sale . and show, the secretary of the Missionary Service League and all heluers. Competitions were held in the evening,. The following were the stall holders Cakes: Mrs and Miss E. Langley. Produce : Mrs A. and Miss L. Hunt. Sweets: Mrs Brown and Mxs Staiuton. Fancy and plain: Mesdames Bradley and Mackin. Christmas tree: Mesdames A. Golding and Gartley. Jumble: Mrs Miller. Tea: Mesdames Burr, Herd, Hunt, Bennett, Misses Matheson and Hunt. Secretary M.S.L. Miss F. E. Davis. Mrs Dunnage and Miss Witheford were joint secretaries, The function was quite a success financially, all stalls being cleared.
