At the Elsthorpe Womeii's Institute's monthly meeting Mrs C. Williams presided. Two new members were enrolied. The Golden Thread talk was aboiit Hwitzerland and Mrs Bawded prepared the talk but she was unable to be present so Mi's A. Williams road tlie puper. Mrs A. Logan gave two interesting demonstrations of snioeklng and soft toys. , Tlie coinpelilioiis for tlie at't'ernoon resalted: — Best pot chutney, Mrs W. Watson (jnr.) 1, Mrs C. Nelson 2, Mrs T. Priest 3, Mrs Lincoln 4; bulbs, three distinct, Mrs Tiffen 1 and 2, Mrs W. McAulay 3, Mrs C. Williams 4; champion bloom. Mrs Tiffen; article from felt hats, Mrs C. Nelson 1 and 3, Mias M.
