BRIDAL GOWN OF DEEP CREAM LACE

CARBERRY— DARVELL The wedding was solemnised at the Takapau Presbyterian Church, recently, of Jean, daughter of Mr and Mrs G. L.« Darvell, ot Inglewood, and Maxwell Leonard, son of Mr W. J. Carberry, oi' Haumoana. The Rev. Mr. Scott ofiiciated at the ceremony, during which the hymns, "The Voice That Breathed O'er Edin" and "0, Perfect Love" were sungi. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a go\vn of deep cream lace, mounted on cieam crepe de chine, fashioned in tunio style. The hem oi' the tunic, skirt and train were. banded .with cream velvet and the heart-shaped' neckline was finished with velvet medallions matching those at the wrists of the long sleeves. T'he waist was defined with a cream velvet girdle eaugbt in front with two largie medallions and slie wore cream velvet shoes. She carried a sheaf of lilies. The only bridcsmaid was the bride's sister, Aliss GAven Darvell, whose gown was of lavcnder stilfqned lace niounted on satin t iashioned with a very lull skirt and long full sleeves, and the neckline was cut to a square. A deep violet velvet sash was finished with a sof't bow in front. She wore a lavender lace picture hat writh tiny violets over ono half of the crown and carried a bouquet of freesias, priinulas, violets and maiden hair l'ern. Alr Robert Darvell, of Wellington, carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the hoxue of the bride's sister, Mrs B. C. Mortou, Wai Whiro, Takapau, where the guests were received by the bride's mother. Mrs Darvell -wore a navy blue taffeta costume witji a pink lace blouse, and a navy baku hat with taffeta bow in. front. When the bride and bridegrooin left for their honeymoon the bride travelled in a smart suit of lido blue wool georgiette with a blue and white georgette scarf at the neck. She woro a Jjlue stitched taffeta hat, navy shoes anci-3SEe§Spries. ■ " .
