PETTY THIEVING

Clothes Taken from Unes Residents in parts of Hastings have been troubled lately with petty thefts from clothes-lin'es, most of the depreda•tions being carried out at night-time. One particularly mean and daring theft of this nature occurred on Saturday night in the Mahora distriet, when a number of items of clothing were stolen from a porch in which they were hanging, although the porch was adjoining a bedroom which was occupied at tho timo.
