M. Edniond Meyer Arrives

Auckland, Last Night. To succeed M. Edouard Joubert, of Auckland, as consul ior France s in New Zealand, M. Edmond - Meyer arrived from Sydney hy the Awatea. M. Jonbert is at present indisposed. M. Meyer assumed his consular duties immediately on his arrival. For tlie past three years M. Meyer has been vice-consul to the Freuch Gonsul-General at Sydney. In 1924 he was connected with the Rhineland Oommissipxi, being in eharge of the ccononxic section for the distriet of Goblenz. Later, he served as attac.be to the French consulate at Stuttgart, Gerniany, after which he was appointed tc a similar position in Phxladolphia. ire was next engaged iu dpxng special wnrk at the French Embar»sy in Washington. In 1930 M. .Meyer was appointed French vice-Consul at Chicago, a position he held until 1933, when he was rnado consul at Detroit. Hp returned to France in 1931, and after a lapse of several months he was appointed to the position in Sydney which he has jusfc relinquished. M, Meyer will t»e ■ joined hy his wife in November.
