The butter market is fil'mer. mainly ua the result of specttlative inquiry. l'he consumption is well maintained with Coijctinelital supplies on the short side. The recent adjustment of the quotas to allow inereased imports ^from Gerrtiany has stilfened the statistioal position. There is also a lack of serortdafy quality butter, which should help to sUpport. the market genefally. The present position is unusual. Buyers are nervous and are not opefating to any extent, but, if the consumption remahis steady, prices may be a slmde dearer in the next few weokt-
