Active Competition For Best Kind SERIES CONCLUDE

(Received 25, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 24. At the wool saies 7100 bales were oft'ered, including 3871 Kew Zealand. A total of 5203 bales was sold. There was a moderate selection, with active competition for best kinds, chiefly from tho home trade. New Zealand realisations:: Slipe, halfbred lambs, Kaiapoi^ top 204d, average IS^d; slipe, quarterbred, top 20d. Throughout the series 09,100 bales were offered, and 48,500 were sold. including 20,000 Australian, 23,500 New Zealand. A total of 16,500 Australian and 24,500 New Zoaland bales was field over. There was a good dcmand for wool i'or inimediate use. The limited competition was at first hesitant, but widened as the saies advauced. Best Merhios closed 5 to 30 and others 10 to 13 per ceut. below July. Scoureds were 7i to 10 per cent. duwu; fine crossbreds 10 and medium and eoarse. 5 to 10 per cent. declino.
