Bowen Street Hospital
TEMPORARY USE GRANTED

WELLINGTON, Last Nfght. When last month it was announeed that the Bowen street private hospital, Wellington, had been purchased by the State for Government purposes, comment was made from certain quarters on the inconvenience that would be caused to the public were the institution closed down immediately. However, as a result of negotiations with the Government a company of shareholders, in which are memb.ers of the medical profession practising In Wellington, has been formed to manage the premises as a private hospital for a restrieted term pending the provision of other suitable private Hospital accommodation in the city. The company, which comprises ,40 shareholders, will take over the control of the hospital as from October 20 nexf. This action has been taken by the doctors coneerned with the knowledge that there is at present an acute shortage of suitable private hospital accommodation in the city and in the hope that this shortago will not be prolonged.
