MR. D. WILSON

Mr David Wilson was born at Glasgow in 1882, and received bis education at a board scbool. He became associated witb tbe trades union movement in Great Britain at tbe age of 19, and has beld official positions almost continuously for, the past 35 years. He was assistant secretary of tbe Derby Trade and Labour Council for five years, and organised tbe election campaign of Mr J. H. Thomas wben be first won the Derby seat. He came to New Zealand for health reasons in 1911. Mr Wilson is well-known at Auckland, wbere for some years be was in business as a storekeeper. He wa# assistant nationai secretary of tbe New Zealand Labour Party under tbe Hon. W. Nash, and also under Mr J. Tborn. He bas been nationai secretary for the past two yearp and organised tbe election campaign of tbo Labour Party in 1935. Mr Wilson represented tbe party at tbe World Migration Congress held in London in 1926, and is a member of tbe Social Service Research Bureau recently set up by tbe Government. He is also a diregtor of tbe St'andard.
