HON. J. TREVETHICK
Tbe Hon. Jonatban Trevetliick, wbo has been appointed to the Legislative Council for a second term, was born in (Jornwall in 1864 and came to New Zealand in 1888. In 1893 be established a brusb manufacturing business at Auckland, remaining in control until about J.0 years ago, when b|s..
ceeded liim. Mr Trevethick gave 11 years' service on the Auckland City Council. He bas also been a member of tbe Auckland Drainage Board, and for 24 years has been associated with tbe administration of the Auckland Sailors' Home, being president from 1921. to 1924. Since 1919 he bas been a member of the board of trustees of the Auckland Savings Bank. He was formerly chairman of tbe Auckland provincial council of tbe Liberal Party. In 1927 wben tbe United political organisation was formed, Mr Trevethick became president of the Auckland provincial exeeutive, an office wbich be lield until bis appointment to tbe Legislative Council in 1930.
