"THE SHOW COES ON" "The Show Goes On", with Gracie Fields, scree is finally to-night. "Romance in Paris" is to be presented on the screen of the llegent Theatre beginning to-moi'row. It marks the di >'i -t of Fernand Gravet, famo Ct.o-tin'-nUi fi'.a star. Born in Be.'tf iu.u educated in England, a resident now of Francet he is one of the ranking screen idols tliroughout all Europe. The picture is. a swift and liumorous romance in which M. Gravet plays the roie of a spendthrift young exkingj who, having lost his throne and kingdom, turns to the gaieties of Paris. Then comes his rollicking, troublestrewn aud complex romance with an American gfirl, played by Joan Blondell. The story, a clever uproarious oue ofi'ers Directcu' Le lloy .the opportuuity for many striking scenes. Of course, the cinema king must Jive in royal luvury. Joan — bemg a chorus girl — pro. yides the scenes for the famed Folies Bergere iii Paris, where the dancers pcrform the twistii^, writhing "cancan." Incidentally Kenny Baker_ of radio faine, is the solo siuger iu" the Folies Bergere scenes. The Springbok v N.Z. second test, double. the length of the provincial match fihns, accompanied by runniug commentary, also screens.
