STATE THEATRE
"WAKE UP AND LIVE" "Wake Up and Live" with Alice Faye, screens finally to-night. A colourful romantic triangle between a headstrong young New Englander, his former fianeee, and a Mexican girl whom he meets in a frontier "cantina," forms the love interest of "Border Cafe," RKO Radio 's new film drama with Harry Carey and John Beal sharing the top roles and Armida, the alluring Mexican dancer, in the feminine lead which screens at the State Theatre to-morrow.' Woven into this romance are young Beal's regeneration at the hands of Carey and Armida and a spirited war against cattle rustlers who adopt modern methods of stealing their beef and of intimidating the ranchers. The second feature is "Windbag the Sailor" with the inimitable Will Hay in the feature role. As "Captain Ben" he spends all his time telling incredible stories of his past seafaring expcriences with the result that lio linds liiuiself in tho awkward position of having to mahe a speech on his sea adventures to a troop of Sea Scouts. He is persuaded to do this by tbeir mistress, Miss Olivia PotterPorter, who is also a partner in a shipping line. The manager of tho line, Yates, is planning, unknown to lier, to send an unwortliy sliip heavily insnred with a crooked mate and a crew of rogues to scuttle her in mid-pacific. Their problems are to find a skipper fool enough to take the ship called the "Rob Roy" to sea. Needless to say Will Hay is selected.
