Fuller Service Operating

EUGBY, Sept. 4. As a result of improvements carried out during the past two years the B.B.C. short-wave broadcasting station at Daventry is now broadcasting on four ! wave-lengths simultaneously for 18 J hour3 daily. Generaliy two new high-powered 50kilowatt transmitters and two on lower power are used at the one time. A jthird high-power transmitter is being [built. Daventry, by its new system of Idirection aerials, is now beaming \ simultaneous transmissions to six ditf erent points for the greater part of the 24 hours. As an example of the fuller service offercd, it may be stated that programmes radiated from Daventry can be heard in India for from eight to ten hours daily.
