AUCKLAND, Last Night. "I suppose you read about tbe little bombsbell I dropped in Sydney tbe other day," remarked tbe Auckland owner-breeder, Mr. C. M. Emanuel, on bis return by tbe Niagara from Sydney, wbere be successfully raced bis colt, Aero King. Mr. Emanuel's bo-mbsbell consisted , of criticism of proprietary racing, witb its small prize-money and bigb admission- cbarges. ."Erom wbat I can see," be said to-day, "tbe Government now intends to go into tbe question of reducing taxation in order to belp clubs in turn to return their admission cbarges and inerease their prize-money. Tbe stakes at present are terrible, and tbe entrance fee for tbe publie out of all proportion. I am not speaking of tbe Australian Jockey Club, but proprietary racing."
