TWO MAIDS WEAR GOWNS OF CYCLAMEN TAFFETA
1 VALENTINE— WELCH The wedding was solemnised at St James's Church, Lower Hutt, last week, of Betty, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. F. Welch, Lower Hutt, and Jasper, son of Dr. and Mrs' I. H. A. Valintine, Eltham. The ceremony was performed by the Rov. H. E. F. Fry. The bride, who entered the clmrch with her i'ather, wore a gown of magnolia satiu cut on medieval lines, with three rows ot cording on the sleeves and skiit, and with a circnlar train failing from the waist. Her tulle veil .was caught to the head with a headhand of silver clematis, and she carried a sheath of freesias. Her attendant maids were Miss Mary Chesney (chief;, and her sister; Miss Patricia Welch, wliose frocks were oi cyclamen taffeta with flared skirts, puff sleeves and Elizabethan collars. They wore liead sprays of cyclamen, and carried sheaths of cycia men. The best man was Mr Robcrt Welch, the gpoomsman, Mr P. Van AscJ> Havelock North, and the ushers Messrs J. Welch, jur, and G. Powdrell. At the recepticn held at the home of the bride's paronts, Mr and Mrs J. F. WclcJh, received the guests. the. latter wcaring a frock of black lace with a black and gold tali'eta coat and hal. j lier bouquet was of gold tonings. Ti-" ! bridegroom's mother 'wore a ficral ensembie with black velvet coat and black hat. Later Mr and Mrs J. Valintine left by car for the north, the latter wearing a navy blue and white 'tailored suit, hungnirian blous'e, navy blue straw. breton hat, and navy 'blue accessories. Tjieir future home will be at Waverley.
