WELLINGTON ARTISTS. GIVE PROGRAMME AT B.M.S. CONCERT

The second concert of the 1937 se'ason of the British Music Society was held at Woodford House, Havelock North, on Friday evening and was succesiful indeed, a most delightful programme beiug given by two viditing artiste from Wellington. These were Frieda Meier (viola) and Ormi Reid (pianof orte) and ' every item received wellearned applause. The programme was as follows: — Sonata for Viola and Piano (Richard Walthew). Piano solos: Chorale, "I Call on Thee Lord" (Bach-Busoni) , Gigue (Graun), Sarabande (Rameau), Solf eggietto ( C. P. E. Bach). Viola solos: Aria (Tenaglia), Allcgretto (Schubert-Tertis), Elegie (Faure). Piano solos: Segaidillas (Albeniz), Peguena Dan'za (Navarro), Dause Rituelle de Feu (de Palla). Viola solos: Piece (Chausson), Serenade (Glazounoff). Sonata for Viola and Piano (Delius, arr. Tertis). At the conclusion a light supper was enjoyed by all. s
