In continuance of its fund-raising efforts the Waipukurau Home and School League held another of the series of .successful social and dance functions whiclx have xnarked the winter months, in the prinxary building of the Waiptikux-au District Hi©b School, last night. and as usual, a very enjoyable time was spent. Excursion To Napier. In view of the intisrest centred in the forthcoming Rugby match between the Magpies of Hawke's Bay, and the Springboks, wlxose tour is to close shortly after the fixture in this province, there is a well-developed feeling in Waipukurau that it would be a popular move were the business people to obsex-ve a full day's holiday on September 15, thus conxbining, with the school authorities in making the occasion a general excursion to Napier. An early pronouncexnent would be helpful as to tho completion of railway arrangements. The Rugby Union's gate concession (6d) to scholars is very temptixxg as far as parents' viewpoint is concerned, in relatioa to the big attrection. j
